CBS under 14 footballers off to a winning start!

A winning start in our first outing of the year is always welcome but to have such a comprehensive win over Knockbeg is an excellent start to our year and this was achieved in the Hurling Club last Friday 22nd September. Playing 3 x20 minute periods, we ensured that over 30 of the 40 strong squad got some game time and we were very happy with the commitment, skill, teamwork and discipline shown by our players.
All our players were a credit to the school as the transition from defence to attack was pivotal in achieving the good performance and hence the win. It is difficult to pick out any players in particular as all players played their part. Strong disciplined tackling, huge work rate and tough battling from our players laid the platform for the comprehensive win.
This was the challenge game that we needed to back up our 3 training sessions. As a result of our training each Tuesday and Thursday evening after school from 4.25pm to 5.25pm we have seen increasing numbers of our players make their way to be part of the panel.
A good start but a lot of work still to do before we are ready for our championship proper.
